Grier School is a boarding school for girls outside Tyrone, enrolling 226 full-time boarding students from 13 countries and from 22 states of the USA. There are also 20 day students enrolled in the school. Grier provides a college preparatory program with a large number of honors classes and sixteen Advanced Placement classes. The Intermediate Unit 8 is part of the public school system of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
