Servant Leadership Award

The Blair County Chamber of Commerce through its Leadership Blair County program is pleased to announce the creation of the Leadership Blair County Servant Leadership Award. This award has been created to honor individuals within Blair County who demonstrate ongoing servant leadership.

What is Servant Leadership?

Servant-Leadership is a practical philosophy, which supports people who choose to serve first, and then lead, as a way of expanding service to individuals and institutions. Servant-leaders may or may not hold formal leadership positions. Servant-leadership encourages collaboration, trust, foresight, listening, and the ethical use of power and empowerment.

The best test of servant Leadership is: “Do those served grow as persons; do they, while being served, become healthier, wiser, freer, more autonomous, more likely themselves to become servants?”

Why was the Award Created?

The Chamber’s Leadership Blair County Steering Committee felt that recognition should be given to those individuals in Blair County who are making a difference through their servant leadership.

Nominee will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Are involved in the community, Blair County and/or a non-profit group or organization
