Farm-City is aimed at raising the awareness of agriculture, Blair County's # 1 industry. Current activities include Business After Hours "Down on the Farm," where the business community can get together and network in a rural setting, a "Visit to Industry" which is an opportunity for Blair County's agricultural community to tour a local business and learn how that business contributes to the regional economy, dairy days and poster contests.
The Farm-City Committee has been the recipient of the state's Farm-City Award, presented by the Governor of Pennsylvania, for 7 years out of 8.
A major component of Farm-City Month is the annual Farm-City Dinner and the presentation of the prestigious Agricultural Community Excellence Award. (For more information on The ACE Award, click here) The event features a traditional family-style turkey dinner.
