Education
Blair County has some of the best educational resources in Pennsylvania, and
it places a strong emphasis on providing quality education and enrichment for its
students. Whether in the classroom or on the athletic fields, on a theatre stage
or in a laboratory, the county has schools that meet the needs of our children.
We offer public and private schools, parochial and technical schools and institutes
of higher learning.
We have the second largest branch campus of Penn State University in Penn State
Altoona. The campus has a multitude of four-year degree programs and specialty fields
of study. Intimate liberal arts colleges such as Juniata College and Mount Aloysius
are nestled in the beautiful surroundings of the Allegheny Mountains. And in nearby
Loretto students can attend Saint Francis University.
Our top-ranked educators and well-rounded academic programs are preparing tomorrow’s
leaders for the challenges they’ll face.
