Job Description:
DelGrosso’s Amusement Park is seeking an Assistant Director of Aquatics for our leadership team. This individual will play a key role in providing management and leadership to deliver business results and operational improvements. Under the direction of the Director of Aquatics, the Assistant Director will assist with the overall management of the waterpark including staff management, recruitment, training, guest service and risk management. Job Requirements: Education & Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Park and Recreation Management, Aquatics, Business or a related field preferred or equivalent work and educational experience with a minimum of 2 years in the Aquatics Industry is required. A minimum of 2 years of prior Management experience strongly preferred. Must have excellent guest service skills with the ability to work well under pressure and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies. Must work a variable schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays during peak seasonal months. Must be organized and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Training, recruiting, scheduling and staffing experience preferred. Previous experience with human resources information systems, payroll and scheduling software preferred.

Summary:
Under the general direction of the Director of Aquatics, the Assistant Director will assist with the overall management of the waterpark including staff management, recruitment, training, guest service and risk management.
Essential Functions:
- Assist the Director of Aquatics with all areas of waterpark management including staffing, risk management, guest service and water quality.
- Act in place of Director of Aquatics in their absence.
- Promote and adhere to the company mission, vision and core values.
- Investigate reported occurrences of injury, theft, harassment or any violation of department or company policies or procedures.
- Rotate through Manager on Duty schedule. Serve as primary management contact for the Park when issues arise.
- Schedule and promote lifeguarding classes. Work with local facilities to secure pool and classroom space.
- Accept and process course registrations and records.
- Teach internal lifeguarding classes.
- Plan, schedule, and conduct pre-season and weekly staff in-service trainings.
- Manage the Ellis and Associates Comprehensive Aquatic Risk Management Program (CARMP).
- Recruit, hire, train waterpark staff.
- Maintain adequate staffing levels at all times.
- Ensure company and department policies and procedures are carried out including proper dress code, guest service, etc., and complete disciplinary actions as required.
- Perform meaningful staff reviews and evaluations at required times.
- Ensure compliance with all child labor laws and regulations.
- Update and revise related policy and procedure manuals.
- Anticipate, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies.
- Monitor waterpark for safety concerns, preventing accidents before they occur.
- Complete accident and injury reports. Participate in accident investigations as necessary.
- Ensure OSHA compliance within waterpark.
- Ensure guest satisfaction at all times. Demonstrate good judgment during interactions with all guests.
- Maintain and actively support all of the park’s operating policies and procedures.
- Report any immediate or pressing issues to the Director of Aquatics.
- Attend recruiting and promotional events off site, as directed.
- Provide assistance to other departments as directed.
- Maintain and protect employee, customer, and consumer confidentiality.
- Report to and from work at assigned time.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Must be honest and reliable.
- Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Provide help and support to co-workers on an ongoing basis.
