Qualifications:
- HS Diploma/GED required (Degree focused on purchasing, inventory, or supply chain management or related field is preferred)
- Previous experience working within a purchasing and/or inventory control department is highly preferred
- Experience with computerized inventory tracking system with the ability to proficiently learn the company’s buying and order entry systems
- High level computer and data entry skills including current knowledge and daily use of all MS Office programs
- Clear and positive communications both in written and interpersonal skills
- Resourceful, thinks ahead, plans and takes initiative
- Strong organizational and time management skills; Adaptable and dependable in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, management and staff alike, vendors, etc.
- Ability to work in a refrigerated warehouse and at times in the freezer storage area to assist with cycle counts and inventory needs
- Ability to lift, push and pull 50 pounds unassisted
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of assigned lines/vendors. Purchasing, Inventory, Marketing, Etc.
- Learn and remain current on all areas of company’s inventory & quality management procedures
- Stay current on all aspects of the buying and order entry computer systems
- Assist in cycle counts, slotting, receiving or all aspects of warehouse inventory needs
- Manage suppliers’ price changes; Verify and input customer/price change information into system
- Assist with the distribution of the daily, weekly, monthly selling sheets and other department reports
- Manage and attend the company’s Food Shows and Expo registrations and set up
- Assist with conducting physical inventory on all fresh food and match to the company’s system
- Assist with verifying returns daily and determine whether the product can be return to inventory
- Assist with the investigate missing or inaccurate inventory
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge or current and new products; cover lines / vendors for vacations of fellow purchasing staff
- This position will continue to evolve and grow with training and experience
Schedule/Benefits Overview
- Salary position based on experience level
- 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday; with the ability to work two Saturday’s a month from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. for inventory checks (may be less hours each Saturday)
- Health, Vision & Dental coverage eligible the first of the month after 60 days of service
