Visitors can take a trip back in time by visiting the county’s many historical attractions. The Horseshoe Curve National Historic Landmark is an engineering marvel and a must-see attraction. There’s also the Altoona Railroaders Memorial Museum and Fort Roberdeau, a reconstructed Revolutionary War stockade surrounding six log cabins. Things to See and Do
You don’t have to travel far to find fun and adventure in Blair County. There’s baseball and biking, roller coasters and rock climbing and a plethora of exciting and leisurely activities.
One of the recreational jewels is the Blair County Ballpark home of the Altoona Curve, the AA affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Located off Interstate 99 in Altoona, with the Skyliner rollercoaster and the Allegheny Mountains as its backdrop, the ballpark is considered one of the finest stadiums in minor league baseball and is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a game with friends and loved ones.
Considered one of the top bicycle areas in the country, Blair County also is home to the International Tour de Toona. The race, which is now on the USCF National Race Calendar, has grown to become one of the largest pro-am cycling events in North America.
Go from the streets to the slopes at Blue Knob All Seasons Resort in Claysburg, home of Pennsylvania’s highest skiable mountain. The resort also offers golfing, mountain biking and more.

Fishermen and hunters come to Blair County for some of the hottest fishing spots in the nation and the abundance of deer, black bear, turkey and pheasant available due to a large portion of the county being designated as Pennsylvania State Game Lands.
