Our Federal Sales team is actively seeking a highly motivated Government Sales Specialist who will be responsible for developing and maintaining new GSA / Federal / State / Local Government business across the USA. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of government procurement processes and experience in generating leads and closing sales through various government bid platforms. This position works the daylight shift, onsite, at our Tipton location.
Responsibilities:
· Identify sales opportunities within the federal government, federal contractor, and state and local government markets
· Identify and continually monitor government bid boards for sales opportunities
· Complete and submit bid to federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as follow up and track results of bids submitted
· Establish excellent relationships with customers to enhance sales opportunities
· Maintain the development of existing accounts at the highest customer service level
· Solve customer applications regarding product offerings
· Maintain clear, concise records in Salesforce.com for all calls including discussions, follow-up actions, and results
· Promote product knowledge as a company representative at major industry events, conferences, and/or tradeshows. (Overnight travel may be required)
· Adhere to New Pig’s Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards
Qualifications:
· Experience in business, sales, marketing or related field, or equivalent combination of education/experience. Military experience helpful/preferred but not required.
· Experience using Salesforce.com or similar CRM software preferred but not necessary
· Familiarity with government regulations and purchasing processes
· Sound understanding of government and GSA contracting including account structures, procurement processes, RFPs, and standard bid requests
· Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain trusting relationships
· Knowledge of (or ability to learn) all segments of Trend order entry, bid boards, and salesforce
· Background in the military and/or working with a federal contractor a plus
· Previous product application or knowledge within the industrial market sector a plus
